However, don’t use the .308 die on your 6.5 Creedmoor. What will happen that since you are just going to make contact with the case body only and not the shoulder the brass will flow upward in the die and change your headspace so the round still won’t chamber. On a semi auto, pump or lever action rifle the brass must be full length sized every time with the die set up to bump the shoulder back at least .003-.005 so the round will chamber every time. I think what is happening to you is that the chamber in your die is larger than the chamber in your rifle so the shoulder bump part of the die is not contacting the brass enough to press the shoulder down so it will not “spring back” to a longer measurement than will fit in your chamber. You can try a couple things: 1. Adjust the die down so the press “cams over” to try to get the brass up into the die enough to size it. 2. Have someone face off the bottom of the die (either Hornady or a gunsmith) so the shoulder will make enough contact to size correctly. Hope this helps! Take care, Phil H. Bill,

I'm having feeding problems in my AR10. I ran them thru my Hornady 6.5 resizing die and then just for fun put one thru my 308 small base redding die. I could fill the brass being sized futher. Isn't this the same case as a 308? Mybe a new set of Redding dies are in order? After this process they will fit in my Wilson case trimmer holder, before they wouldn't.
